Creative Pivot Towards Digital Art

Why I’m Pivoting from Tattooing to Digital Art (And What’s Next!)

For the past few years, tattooing has been a big part of my creative journey. There’s something incredibly special about creating art that becomes a permanent part of someone’s story. The connection, the trust, the collaboration—it’s a unique and deeply personal experience. But, as with all creative paths, evolution is inevitable. Beyond being pulled creatively, I’ve also been more mindful about the physical endurance required for long tattoo sessions. I’ve felt a strong pull toward something new (or rather, something that’s always been there in the background, waiting for more of my attention). So for the past year, I’ve been using my iPad for more than just tattoo designs…

Following the Creative Breadcrumbs

If there’s one thing I’ve learned as an artist, it’s to pay attention to what lights me up. Tattooing has been an amazing part of my life, but over time, I started feeling the itch to create differently—one with more fluidity, experimentation, and accessibility. I’ve always loved playing with color, layering textures, and transforming vintage imagery into something new, and digital art gives me endless room to explore that.

Unlike tattooing, which requires meticulous planning and precision, digital art feels more like a playground. I can create without the pressure of permanence, undo mistakes (much less possible with tattooing), and work in bursts of inspiration without being tied to a schedule. And the best part? I get to share my work with more people in a way that’s tangible and accessible—whether through art prints, digital downloads, or even future collaborations.

The Shift & What It Means

So, what does this pivot mean? Am I completely done with tattooing? Not necessarily. While it’s no longer my main focus, I’m keeping the door open for special projects and clients who align with my creative vision. But right now, my energy is going toward building my body of digital work, expanding my Etsy shop, and finding new ways to bring my art into people’s spaces.

This shift has been both exciting and a little nerve-wracking. Anytime you move away from something familiar, there’s that little voice whispering, Are you sure? But deep down, I know this is the right move. I’m allowing myself to follow the creative pull and see where it leads.

What’s Next?

Right now, I’m focusing on growing my collection of digital prints, experimenting with new styles, learning more about surface design, and finding ways to make my art even more immersive. I’m also planning to share more behind-the-scenes content because one of my favorite things is connecting with people over the creative process.

I'm so grateful to you if you’ve been following my tattoo journey. And if you’re here for the art, welcome! I can’t wait to keep creating and sharing with you all.
